TRAVEL ADVICE

Following our second payment to the hotel in Bristol on February 1, it is recommended that you go ahead and purchase your flights to and from the U.K.

There are four international airports that have convenient rail access to Bristol: London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham; and Bristol itself has a regional airport.

If you are choosing to arrive in the U.K. on the day that our Bristol schedule begins (Saturday, August 4), you will need to select flights that arrive in the U.K. early in the morning.  Please allow plenty of time for going through immigration, collecting your luggage and getting to the railway station.

If you are inexperienced at booking flights, Expedia is a good place to start.

To book rail transportation from your chosen airport to Bristol, trainline.com is good.  The railway station that you will be heading for is Bristol Temple Meads, which is a little over a mile away from our Bristol hotel.  Tickets purchased in advance can be much less expensive than those booked on the day, and trainline.com states that those tickets usually go on sale twelve weeks in advance.  For the time being, you can use trainline.com to see what trains are available, routes and journey times.

Please note, you must be at the Bristol Royal Marriott Hotel  no later that 3.00pm on Saturday August 4.

The trip concludes on the evening of Sunday, August 12.  Hotel accommodation is booked through until the morning of Monday, August 13, at which time you are free to leave whenever is convenient for you.

You are welcome to arrive in the U.K. earlier than the group and/or leave later than the group.  There are many, many other wonderful places to visit that cannot be included within our ten days together. You will be responsible for making all your own travel arrangements for that.  Just be sure to be at the Bristol Royal Marriott Hotel no later that 3.00pm on Saturday August 4.  Our group booked hotel accommodation begins on the evening of Saturday, August 4.
